Members decided to hold at least one regional tour across central and eastern Africa to find out how those farmers manage their dairy farms. These tours may involve trainings, and farm visits among others.

Kenya Dairy Tour – 2015

DAFAN organised their first dairy tour to Kenya from 9th July, 2015 to 12th July, 2015 where a group of 30 dairy farmers visited five dairy farms and a cooperative organisation in Kiambu, Naivasha and Eldoret. The farms include; One Farm in Kiambu, Rise and Molito in Redhill, Dadge Farm in Githunguli, Delamare dairy farm in Naivasha, Willens dairy farm in Eldoret, and Dumberi dairies cooperative organisation.

Eldoret Dairy Tour – 2016

The Eldoret dairy tour comprised of 60 members from different parts of Uganda who visited small to big dairy farms in Eldoret, Kenya from 1st April, 2016 to 4th April, 2016 with emphasis on calf rearing or breeding, value addition and some detail on farm management. Six dairy farms were visited and these include; Elifam, Baraka Farm, Willens Dairy Farm, Seregon Dairy Farm, Sakong Dairy Farm, Tihidi Farm.

Nairobi Livestock breeders show and Dairy farm tour – 2016

A group of 25 dairy farms went to Nairobi, Kenya for the Brookside Livestock breeders show and also a dairy farm tour from 20th July, 2016 to 23rd July, 2016. The 9th edition of the breeders show was an opportunity to showcase the best breeds of cattle in the region and some of the breeds include; Holstein Friesian, jersey, Ayrshire, Guernsey, Red Poll, Fleckvieh, and Brown Swiss. Three dairy farms were visited and these include; Makiwa Estates in Kiambu, Jeneld farm in Losambu, and Chemsian Dairy Farm in Nakuru.
